A mapping organization had a clever idea, and they mapped the location of Farmers’ Markets all across the United States as well as the obesity rates. It turns out that areas with the lowest obesity rates have three times as many Markets as those with the highest rates of obesity. Local Farmers Markets are certainly excellent sources of fresh fruits and vegetables, but the Markets in Ashland also showcase local meat producers (goat, pork, bison, beef, chicken and rabbit) , fermented sauerkrauts, and internationally celebrated Rogue Creamery cheeses.
