Meditation classes are thriving, even usurping time from once athletic yoga classes. Meditation is widely acknowledged as a stress reduction technique, and has also been associated with reduced blood pressure and improvements in other physical measures of illness. Almost everyone finds meditation challenging and can benefit from some guidance or instruction, and meditators are agreeing with their instructors: meditation seems much more satisfying when done with a group. Ms Lee of Om Yoga is quoted in a recent New York Times article as saying, “People are realizing that meditation is a way to work with your mind, and the benefits are said to bring strength, stability and clarity.”
